Testing requirements for NearLink products

NearLink products should be submitted to the authorized laboratories for testing to confirm that they comply with the NearLink technology specifications and testing norms, ensuring the interoperability of NearLink products from different manufacturers.

NearLink products should be tested according to the test sets based on their types:

  • The Basic Test Set is a set of basic access and service capabilities and test items for NearLink devices, including access layer and basic service layer, which achieve the functions of discoverability, connectability, and configurability for NearLink devices. All NearLink devices, including chips and modules, should support this test.
  • The NearLink HID Application Test Set specifies the functions and test items for interaction between NearLink HID devices and applications, including keyboards, mice, game controllers, etc. HID devices and applications should support this test.
  • The NearLink Digital Car Key Test Set specifies the functions and test items for interaction between NearLink digital car key devices and applications, including car key anchors, physical and virtual car keys, etc. Devices should support this test.
  • The NearLink Audio Test Set specifies the functions and test items for interaction between NearLink audio devices and applications, including headphones, microphones, players, hearing aids, etc. NearLink audio devices and applications should support this test.

The International NearLink Alliance will also develop more NearLink device and application testing norms.

Testing flow for NearLink products

The testing flow for NearLink products includes three steps:

1Preparation before testing: The testing vendor submitting the NearLink product test should be a member of the alliance and have paid the membership fee;

2Product testing: The testing vendor selects an authorized laboratory of the alliance, communicates with the authorized laboratory about the testing work, submits a testing application, including testing sets, testing projects, and testing plans, and delivers testing samples.

3Product listing: The testing manufacturer shall submit the product testing report and proof of compliance with national regulations to the Alliance Secretariat, and communicate the listing information with the Secretariat. For products of the same series, separate explanatory documents shall be provided for listing. After being reviewed and confirmed by the alliance testing experts, the testing vendor will sign a "NearLink Trademark License Agreement" with the alliance, and the Secretariat will update the listed website information.

The NearLink product listing is currently free.
