MSDS Certification

SDS (Safety Data Sheet) is a comprehensive document provided by hazardous chemical production or sales enterprises to customers in accordance with regulatory requirements, which includes information on chemical components, physical and chemical parameters, combustion and explosion performance, toxicity, environmental hazards, as well as 16 items of information on safe use, storage conditions, emergency response to leaks, and transportation regulatory requirements.

The US GHS officially came into effect on March 26, 2012, and the regulations cover the corresponding provisions of the United Nations GHS on chemical substance classification and labeling requirements, especially for chemical substance classification and labeling requirements in the workplace. Clear regulations have been made on GHS labeling, hazard categories, and safety data sheets, which also pose new challenges to global chemical production companies. During the transition period of GHS implementation, enterprises can use the old version of HCS standards or the new version of HCS standards. If enterprises choose the new HCS standard to produce SDS and labels, they cannot directly adopt ANSI standards and need to make adjustments in content and format. But all manufacturers and distributors must update all old MSDS to the new version SDS report that complies with OSHA GHS before June 1, 2015, to ensure the introduction of new regulations.

Which Products Need to Apply for MSDS Report (SDS Report)

Some people believe that only hazardous chemicals need to obtain MSDS, but this is not the case. Currently, there are stricter requirements for MSDS (SDS) reporting abroad, which have expanded to almost all chemicals, even some plastics, metals, textile products, chemical products exported to developed countries, and a large part of daily necessities now require MSDS (SDS) for smooth customs declaration. Some foreign buyers also require MSDS (SDS) for goods, and some foreign or joint venture enterprises in China also make this requirement for procurement.

Importance of MSDS Report (SDS Report)

Attention: The information provided on MSDS provides a source of information for users, so it is important to provide standardized, accurate, and comprehensive MSDS reports.

This requires choosing a professional organization to complete the production of MSDS reports for you. If any individual or company induces you to obtain MSDS reports at a very low price, it means that you will need to face:

  • Obtaining unprofessional MSDS reports (usually the professionalism of MSDS reports is proportional to the cost) often leads to reports that are not accepted by shipping companies and customers, wasting your costs and time, and affecting the possibility of obtaining more orders for the product. Sometimes, this may also result in supply defaults;
  • Violating MSDS standards without knowledge, resulting in legal violations;
  • Due to the unprofessional MSDS report, the shipping company or user made incorrect operations on the product, resulting in irreparable losses or injuries;
