What is the Canada ISED Certification?

ISED(Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada)is responsible for the Canadian wireless and electromagnetic compatibility regulations. The ISED certification is applicable to the compliance access of wireless communication devices and certain electronic and electrical equipment.

What is the Purpose of the ISED Certification?

Ensure that the device meets the Canadian wireless and EMC requirements, and standardize the electromagnetic environment and spectrum usage.

It is often conducted in conjunction with the US FCC test to facilitate entry into the North American market.

ISED Certification Process

1

Standard and Path Confirmation

  • Confirm the applicable RSS/ICES standards (such as RSS-247, ICES-003, etc.)
  • Determine the testing plan and registration path
  • Prepare samples and technical documentation
2

Testing and Evaluation

  • Conduct RF and EMC testing, and SAR/power density evaluation if necessary
  • Problem rectification and closure
3

File and Registration

  • Formulate test reports and application materials
  • Complete ISED registration, obtain authorization/number, and mark according to regulations
